Insights from Joe Dispenza | Lucidus Cognitus

In this video on Lucidus Cognitus, Joe Dispenza explains why so many people give up on their dreams, not because they lack ability, but because they are living under the constant influence of stress. Stress knocks the brain and body out of balance. When this happens repeatedly, people lose energy, clarity, and the ability to create a new future.

Stress is not only physical. It can be emotional and chemical as well. Physical stress comes from injuries and trauma. Chemical stress comes from viruses, blood sugar imbalance, or toxins. Emotional stress comes from daily life pressures like finances, relationships, parenting, and responsibilities. All three disrupt harmony in the body.

Short-term stress is natural. In nature, animals return to balance once danger passes. Humans, however, often stay in stress for long periods because they can activate the stress response just by thought alone. A single memory, fear, or imagined future problem can produce the same chemical reaction as a real threat. Over time, this becomes destructive.

When Thoughts Become the Enemy

One of the most powerful ideas in this talk is that your thoughts can make you sick. Stress hormones downregulate genes that support health and activate genes linked to disease. Since you can trigger stress just by thinking, your own mind can work against your body.

But this also means the opposite is possible. If thoughts can make you sick, they can also help make you well.

The problem is that stress chemicals are addictive. They give the body a rush of energy. Many people unconsciously become addicted to the emotional states created by fear, anger, control, or urgency. They even use the problems in their lives to keep feeding those emotions. This is why people can become addicted to a life they do not even enjoy.

This is what Joe Dispenza calls thought addiction.

How Stress Shrinks Your Creative Energy

When you constantly react to people or situations, you draw energy from a greater invisible field and convert it into chemistry. The energetic field around your body begins to shrink. With less energy available, healing and creativity become difficult.

At this point, you become “matter trying to change matter.”
You try to force outcomes.
You try to control everything.
You define reality only through your senses.

Stress makes the outer world feel more real than the inner world.

You begin to believe:

  • You are your body
  • You are your problems
  • You are your past
  • Time controls your future

This is how people become trapped in survival consciousness.

The Creative Moment

True transformation happens when you move out of stress and into presence. Joe Dispenza describes a moment where you become so present that:

  • You forget your body
  • You forget your identity
  • You forget time
  • You forget your environment

In that state, you are no longer defined by anything. You become no one, no thing, nowhere, in no time. This is what he calls the creative moment. It is the doorway to the quantum field.

You do not enter that field as a “somebody.”
You enter as a “nobody.”

In that space, creation becomes possible. You are no longer reacting. You are generating.

Breaking Free from Thought Addiction

To awaken your higher self, you must:

  • Stop identifying with stress
  • Stop believing every thought
  • Stop living as your emotions

Instead, you learn to observe your inner state. When you stop feeding stressful thoughts, your body begins to return to balance. Energy returns. Creativity returns. Your identity starts shifting from survival to creation.

This is personal transformation at its deepest level.

You are no longer a product of your environment.
You become the creator of your experience.

Awakening the Higher Self

Your higher self emerges when you are no longer driven by fear, control, or emotional addiction. It appears when you step beyond your body, beyond time, and beyond identity.

You stop living as matter trying to change matter.
You start living as consciousness shaping reality.

That is awakening.
That is transformation.
That is creative power.
